📱M1 iPad Pro 12.9 256GB
“What’s a computer” jokes aside, the iPad continues to become more and more of a primary computing device for me. Federico would be proud.
With the right accessories it truly does become a device that transforms as required. A notepad when it needs to be, a magazine, a monitor and even a more traditional laptop experience.
💻16” Apple MacBook Pro M1 Pro - 16GB - 1TB
I couldn’t resist upgrading… I got a good deal on a refurbished unit and my old Intel MacBook Pro has become the “family computer”. Now my career has shifted, It wasn’t something I truly needed day in day out, but it’s good to have a ‘proper’ computer for some tasks, the M1’s are such great value for money and the refurb saved a good chunk of change.
🤳iPhone 14 Pro Max
Another year, another new phone. Again I primarily upgraded for the cameras. 48MP and the improvement to low light shooting was too tempting. Travel is opening up and we have some ambitious plans for 2023 ✈️ so it made sense.
Dynamic Island is fine. I don’t see it as ‘revolutionary’ as some, but I’m sure it will be iterated on over time, and gain more support with apps.
⌚️Apple Watch Series 6 44MM GPS+Cellular Space Black Stainless Steel
Upgraded from my previous Series 3. Primarily for the always on screen. I love the metrics you can get and silent notifications. I’m a clutz so I typically always get the Stainless Steel/Sapphire glass variants.
Applecare has just ran out, so I’d better be careful with it now 😬
I’ve promised myself I can upgrade to the Ultra, but only if I hit some health metrics before hand. Better get to it 🏃♂️💨
AirPods Pro
Constantly good quality, convenient and portable. I just managed to get them swapped under the recall as well, so they will probably do me for another year or so.

🎒 Timbuk2 Clark Pack
I’m pretty obsessive about finding the perfect backpack. I used to have a satchel but gave up when I was getting back & leg pains because my pack weight wasn’t evenly distributed. I wanted a backpack that could serve work, casual use and travel. I originally tried a Poler Rolltop 2.0, but found it leaned too much towards casual rather than travel or work.
My original criteria was
✔️ Rolltop
✔️ Laptop section
✔️ Separate zip section
This bag cemented the my love of a rolltop bag. the versatility to adjust bag size & how useful they can be is awesome. When I upgraded to the Clark, It was because
✔️ It was harder wearing material
✔️ As well as a Rolltop, it is horizontally expandable for compactness when not loaded up
✔️ A lot more pockets/sections for my gear
✔️ Much more comfortable straps and support
✔️ Inbuilt waterproof cover
And I think I’ve now reached backpack Nirvana. I can’t think of any reason now I would try another bag. If I ever lose/damage/wear out the Clark, I think it would be replaced with another Clark. it’s that good.
Transportation
🚲 Pashley Guv’nor
A total blind passion buy. I make no apology for it. Sometimes you just buy something because your heart tells you it wants it.
I wouldn’t do any hard riding for it. It isn’t a daily driver, but for summer rides around Dorchester & the surrounding countryside it’s the perfect bike. Guaranteed also to look splendid parked outside a pub 😉🍻
