Now I’m fully settled in. The Domain re-pointed, billing set-up and the initial new shiny period has worn off. So I’ve been thinking about micro.blog and how I’m using it.

I think the thing I like the most about Micro.blog is that I can just be. I post my stuff for myself & the interactions feel a lot more real and organic when they happen. I don’t know who follows me. I follow people who seem interesting. My Timeline grows with nice stories & nice pictures.

Twitter is marketing. It’s about the non-famous following the famous/brands. I don’t think I’ve had a real worthwhile discovery or interaction on there for a long time. It begs the question…”why am I still doing it”.

A burger chain isn’t going to like my food posts here.

A company selling Network equipment isn’t going to follow me in the hope I follow them back to read their press releases.

my posts are on my page and I own my content, no matter how inconsequential it is. (Cat pictures anyone?).

I like it here & I can’t wait to see how it grows and progresses. Here’s to you Micro.Blog.
