On the challenge of keeping BBC iPlayer relevant

Harrington says if the BBC keeps its own shows on iPlayer for longer it is in the tricky position that they will be worth less when it comes to sell them

AFAIC I’ve already paid for them with my licence fee. I should be able to enjoy the content I’ve paid to help produce whenever i want within that window. It’s always been frustrating you have this tiny 30 day window to enjoy the content.

BBC produced content should be on iPlayer for 12 months for UK licence fee payers. Nuff said.

It’s telling as a family we probably watch more BBC programs via Netflix than iPlayer.
