The setting is the star of this book and its well written overall, but I always felt slightly disconnected from the characters themselves. Im not rushing to buy the second in the trilogy…

I'm really enjoying this so far. I've not read the Expanse books but this has a similar feel of strong characters and a well laid out world. Plot isn't typical fantasy either. Is a slow burn so far though.

Really hooked on this book my wife got me as a gift before our upcoming trip to Japan. About 1/4 of the way through but it’s just a beautifully written series of insightful stories of different wards and people in Tokyo. Loving it.
Finished reading: A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine 📚
very much enjoyed this political sci-fi epic. Extremely well written characters and great world building. absolutely hooked for the full trilogy now!
